Gresham ‘suspicious death’ officially a homicide investigation

UPDATE: The death of a 22-year-old man in Gresham has officially been declared a homicide as detectives continue to investigate.
The incident was reported just before 8 a.m. Monday, May 5, when callers reported a “suspicious circumstance at a mobile home park in the 2600 block of Northeast 201st Ave. Gresham officers arrived and found Ahanu Johnson dead at the scene.
A day later the death was ruled to have been caused by homicidal violence.
The East County Major Crimes Team is leading the investigation. No information has been shared about the cause of death or suspects.
